We all remember the 10k BTC for 2 pizzas story but this one deserves a mention of it’s own
12 years ago today, an individual decided to use his BTC to purchase 130 pounds of Colombian coffee beans from a seller located in Germany.
not only did they have to pay shipping costs via international bank transfer but they had to do so without any clear idea of whether or not the seller would receive their money in time or even if they would be able to ship out the goods.
But everything went smooth and the transactions happened as expected.
We’ve come a long from from there, but an OG adoption story
